Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
KeyTalk AI (“KeyTalk”, “we”) is a mobile client published by Syed Tasavour. Contact: keytalk@syedtasavour.com.
2. What KeyTalk is
KeyTalk is a bring-your-own-key (BYOK) chat app. You paste your own Anthropic API key. The app talks to Anthropic on your behalf. KeyTalk does not provide an account system and does not run a chat server that stores your conversations.
3. Data we process
Depending on how you use the app, the following may be processed:
- Anthropic API key. Stored only on your device using the platform secure store (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). It is not uploaded to KeyTalk.
- Chat content. Stored locally on your device so you can reopen past chats. Messages you send are transmitted to Anthropic so the model can reply. KeyTalk does not receive a copy on our servers because we do not operate such servers.
- Optional memory facts. Short notes you choose to save so the app can personalize replies. Stored on device. Never used in Incognito chats.
- Usage estimates. Token and cost estimates for your own awareness, stored on device.
- Images you attach. Sent to Anthropic with your request when you choose to attach them. Not uploaded to KeyTalk.
- Settings. Preferences such as theme, default model, backup toggle, and memory toggle, stored on device.
4. Android permissions
On Android, KeyTalk declares only the permissions it needs:
- INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE. Used to call Anthropic over HTTPS and to check connectivity. Chat, image attachments you choose to send, and your API key leave the device only on those HTTPS requests to Anthropic.
- Photos / camera (system pickers). When you attach an image, Android’s photo picker or camera capture UI is used. KeyTalk does not declare broad storage or always-on camera access. Images you attach are sent to Anthropic with that request only; they are not uploaded to KeyTalk.
iOS uses equivalent network access and the system photo / camera pickers with the same purpose.
5. What we do not collect
- No KeyTalk user accounts or passwords
- No advertising IDs for ads
- No sale of personal data
- No analytics SDK that profiles you across apps for advertising
6. Third parties
When you chat, content and your API key are sent to Anthropic under Anthropic’s terms and privacy policy. Anthropic bills usage to the key you supply. Review Anthropic’s documentation and policies at anthropic.com.
KeyTalk uses Firebase Remote Config (Google) for lightweight, non-chat configuration such as feature flags. Firebase may process standard app instance and device identifiers under Google’s privacy policy so that config can be delivered. Chat content and your API key are not sent to Firebase.
App stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) may process purchase, install, and crash data under their own policies when you download or rate the app.
If you enable chat backup, chats may be included in your device’s own cloud backup (for example Google Drive or iCloud) according to your device settings. Your API key is configured to stay out of those backups.
7. Children
KeyTalk is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use the app if you are under that age.
8. Retention and deletion
Because data stays on your device, you control retention. You can delete individual chats, clear all chats, remove memory facts, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes local app data subject to your device OS behavior.
9. Security
Your API key is stored with platform encryption. Network requests go to Anthropic over HTTPS. No method is perfect; protect your device and never share your API key.
10. Your choices
- Use Incognito chats that are not saved to history
- Turn memory off or delete facts
- Turn chat backup off
- Change or remove your API key in Settings
- Clear all chats
11. International users
Your messages go to Anthropic’s services, which may process data in the United States or other locations Anthropic uses. KeyTalk itself does not host your chats.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
